Our Process
Working with Race Construction & Real Estate

In our first meeting, we'll discuss your project, including the scope of work, design preferences, budget, and any existing ideas you may have for the space. This session serves as an opportunity for clients to either initiate the design process or review a pre-existing design.

At this stage, we will get all of the required documents & plans for the project. This includes designing the architectural and structural plans needed for permitting & pricing.

Following the design phase, a comprehensive estimate will be provided for the construction project. This quote covers the entire project, outlining the scope of work and the cost associated with plans. Upon mutual agreement, a contract will be drafted and signed. Subsequently, we'll kick off the project by obtaining necessary permits, ordering materials, and scheduling a start date.

Once all the permits & required documents are received, we will begin construction on the project.
Design & Consultation
We bring fresh, innovative design design solutions to our consultations. Leveraging modern technology, project management tools, our network of Charleston-based licensed contractors and design experts, we work to achieve your design preferences and design ideas throughout every remodel.
Materials Selection
Our extensive supply network includes numerous suppliers offering a wide array of materials, ensuring that we can cater to the unique requirements of each project. We have designated representatives for each supply house, serving as knowledgeable guides throughout the selection process, providing insights into materials, and offering valuable advice and recommendations.
Collaborative Selection Process
At the outset, clients typically share a broad vision for their project and their desired final design. With this information, we work closely with clients to understand their preferences. Using our expertise, we then make informed recommendations, guiding owners in selecting the optimal materials that align with both the design vision and budget considerations.

Race Jones, Founder & Owner of Race Construction & Real Estate, is a proud native of Charleston. His journey in the construction and real estate industry began at Clemson University, where he pursued a major in Construction Science and Management and a Minor in Business Administration.
Fresh out of college, Race wasted no time, joining a national home builder and swiftly earning his General Contractor's license in the same year. His dedication and passion for crafting exceptional homes led him to one of Charleston's premier custom home builders on the Isle of Palms, where he honed his skills in constructing multi-million dollar residences.
Driven by a vision and a relentless pursuit of his dreams, Race decided to embark on his entrepreneurial journey, founding his own construction and real estate investment firm. Throughout his career, he has successfully completed numerous real estate investment projects and undertaken several construction projects, always with an unwavering commitment to excellence.
Race's aspiration extends beyond business success; he is dedicated to fostering a thriving local community through his work. With a foundation built on education, experience, and a deep connection to Charleston, Race Jones is leading his company to make a lasting and positive impact on the world of construction and real estate in the Lowcountry.
